Battle of Brandywine re-enactment

On May 17 and 18, Birmingham Township is hosting a live re-enactment of the Battle of Brandywine. There will be more than 500 authentically outfitted soldiers, modern officers of British regiments that served in the historic battle, two 45-minute battles each day, firearms demonstrations, cannon fire, sword fighting, authentic encampments, 18th-century food and drink, presentations by Washington and Lafayette, and more. The major part of the fighting took place in Birmingham Township on the site of Sandy Hollow at the junction of New Street and Birmingham Road, which is where the re-enactment will be held.
