300th Anniversary of Amity Township Historic House Tour
An exciting living history open house tour that celebrates the 300th anniversary of Amitry Township, Berks County
The Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County (HPTBC) will be celebrating the 300th anniversary of Amity Township with an exciting living history open house. A continuation of our 3rd Saturday programs, this event will consist of various demonstrations and activities and take place throughout Morlatton Village.
Visitors will be able to tour all four eighteenth century buildings that comprise the Village: the White Horse Tavern, the George Douglass House, the Mouns Jones House, and the Michael Fulp House. There will also be archaeological excavations of the 1716 Mouns Jones House and visitors can view an exhibit of the Amity Heritage Society. At the George Douglass House, visitors can see the ongoing restoration of this 1765 mansion. In the White Horse Tavern guests can enjoy dancing demonstrations courtesy of the Amity Colonial Dancers.
Admission is a $10 suggested donation. Light refreshments will be provided.
