Under Pennsylvania’s child abuse laws, 32,075 people were charged in 36,386 child abuse cases between 2019 to 2023, resulting in 10,915 case convictions. Of those defendants who were charged in child abuse cases, 56 percent were between the ages of 19 and 35 and 23 percent were charged with endangering the welfare of children.
