Attempted child abduction reported in Penn Township

Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who reportedly attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl at her school bus stop on the afternoon of Jan. 19.

According to a police report, the girl had gotten off her bus at about 3:10 p.m. in the area of Oxford Circle and Penn Drive in Penn Township when a man grabbed her by the wrists and told her to come with him. The girl described him as a skinny white man with a red beard, wearing all-black clothing and sunglasses.

She was able to escape and run to her home. She was not injured. Anyone with information about similar incidents is asked to call police at 610-268-2022. The police are asking the community to be extra vigilant at bus stops, and to report any suspicious activity.
