BOMB THREAT

Pennsylvania State PoliceAvondale responded to Avon Grove Intermediate School on Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. for a report of a bomb threat. The building was evacuated while search dogs and personnel searched the building. No bombs were found. Police ask anyone with information to call 610-268-2022.

DRUG CHARGES

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Whitney Nicole Stewart, 24, of Landenberg, on Oct. 29 at 11:30 p.m. after she was seen staggering at the end of a driveway at 101 Talbot Drive in London Britain Township. Police had gotten a report of a woman smoking a cigarette she had dipped it into suspected PCP. Police determined Stewart was under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance. She was arrested for public intoxication and a search of her belongings turned up a glass vial containing suspected PCP.

Kennett Square Police arrested Jeremiah Hendricks, 26, of Kennett Square, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Oct. 18 at 7:37 p.m. in the 200 block of Birch Street. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

RETAIL THEFT

AND DRUG CHARGES

After he was caught stealing a vacuum and rug shampooer from a buinsess at 800 Commons Drive in Oxford, Adrian Vergara, 20, of Phoenixville, was found in possession of marijuana and heroin on Oct. 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. After his arrest on those charges, police also discovered that Vergara had a previous warrant for his arrest.

WALLET STOLEN

Sometime overnight on Oct. 18, a wristlet containing a driver's license, insurance cards, credit cards and $40 in cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue, according to Kennett Square Police. One of the credit cards was later used at the Sunoco A-Plus market in Kennett Square.

HARASSMENT

Kennett Square Police cited Emanuel Zavala, 22, of Kennett Square, for harassment on Oct. 19 at 11 p.m. in the 700 block of Taylor Street. Police said Zavala was banging on the windows of a home and refused to leave until police were called.

WINDOW SMASHED

Kennett Square Police reported that sometime between 7:05 and 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 20, the back windshield of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of South Broad Street was smashed.

DUI

Kennett Square Police arrested Benlly Ortiz-Rivera, 35, of Avondale, for DUI and traffic offenses on Oct. 21 at 8:02 p.m. after a traffic stop in the 700 block of West State Street. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

New Garden Township Police arrested James Tillinghast, 22, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a one-car collision on Kaolin Road near Hartefeld Drive on Oct. 29 at 1:07 p.m. He was released pending an appearance at District Court.

New Garden Township Police arrested Janet Kreiser, 44, of Landenberg, for DUI after she was seen driving erratically in the 700 block of Newark Road on Oct. 29 at 8:52 p.m. She was released pending an appearance at District Court.

New Garden Township Police arrested Bryan Lightbody, 51, of Newark, Del., for DUI after he ran a red light at Gap Newport Pike and Penn Green Road on Nov. 1 at 1:17 a.m. He was released pending an appearance at District Court.
