Schott thanks voters

Letter to the Editor:

I want to congratulate Rep. John Lawrence on his re-election, and thank the roughly 16,000 voters – his supporters and mine – for taking part in last Tuesday’s contest. The results were not what we hoped for, but I am heartened by the election of Tom Wolf and what that will mean for Pennsylvania’s public schools.

Thank you to my supporters, especially the hundreds of educators who supported this campaign as an extension of their commitment to our school children. Your work in the classroom is the ultimate public service, and it was an honor to advocate for you in this campaign. Please stay involved.

My family has had many opportunities to serve this community, and we plan to stay engaged in advocating for good schools, stewardship of our natural resources, and responsible and ethical government. I believe the great majority of residents in our community, both Democrats and Republicans, share basic convictions in these areas. We all have an obligation to work daily – in ways large and small – to realize them.
