Kennett Symphony slates 'Symphony Under the Stars'

The Kennett Symphony of Chester County will present “Symphony Under the Stars” on Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Open Air Theatre of Longwood Gardens.

The orchestra will be under the direction of guest conductor Markand Thakar, of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and will feature soprano Stephanie Scogna, winner of the 2013 KSCC Vocal Competition.

Tickets include the concert, all-day admission to Longwood Gardens, and an illuminated fountain show after the concert. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

The program includes Rossini's “Italian in Algiers Overture,” Mozart's “Exsultate jubilate,” Holst's “Saint Paul Suite,” Puccini's “O mio babbino caro,” Beethoven's “Symphony No. 2” and Herbert's “Art is Calling for Me.”
