Physician lecture focuses on memory loss

07/16/2014 10:40PM, Published by ACL, Categories: In Print, News

As we age, concerns about memory loss or developing Alzheimer’s disease can be upsetting. What is often unknown are the steps you can take to eliminate some risks and increase your mental activity level. On Monday, July 28 at 7 p.m., as part of the new Doctor Lectures in the Community series, area residents are invited to learn about memory loss, early signs of Alzheimer’s and other diseases. Held at The Chester County Technical College High School in West Grove, the evening’s speaker is neurologist Joseph S. Handler, M.D.

Dr. Handler will present practical and relevant information that you won’t want to miss, including current medical research about warding off memory loss and practical actions for keeping the brain in top shape.

A member of the Medical Staff at Jennersville Regional Hospital, Dr. Handler is an experienced and board certified neurologist.  He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed an internal medicine internship at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, DE.

Dr. Handler also completed a neurology residency program at Boston University Affiliated

Hospitals in Boston, MA and an EEG/Epilepsy Fellowship at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Handler opened Jennersville Neurology and Center for Memory and Balance in 2009 with offices in Kennett Square and West Grove.

“Keeping Your Brain Sharp” is free and open to the community with pre-registration by logging onto Jennersville.com/events or calling 610-869-1223.

The Chester County Technical College High School is located at 280 Pennock’s Bridge Road in West Grove.
