Camp Dreamcatcher held a spring event on May 3 at its new office in the Market at Liberty Place. The evening included appetizers, drinks and a silent auction. In addition, campers, counselors and Mentoring Program participants shared their personal Camp Dreamcatcher stories, experiences, hopes and dreams with the guests. Ohnmar, a 10-year-old camper, shared a song about her life-changing friendship with Brealey, Camp Dreamcatcher’s therapeutic dog. The song, “I’m Not Scared Anymore,” tells the story of Ohnmar’s transition during the camp week from being scared to being a superstar thanks to having Brealey in her life.

“Dreams do come true,” said Patty Hillkirk, Camp Dreamcatcher Founder/Director. “Thanks to our wonderful sponsors and guests, the event raised over $42,000 to support Camp Dreamcatcher. The funds will enable HIV/AIDS impacted youth to attend our therapeutic and educational camp in August. I also want to thank the Market at Liberty Place vendors, Paradocx Vineyard and Victory Brewing Company for donating food and drinks for the event.”

Sponsors of the event included: Mr. & Mrs. Robert D. McNeil; Anonymous; Bee McLeod & Goody Tyler; Dansko; Rick & Kay Braun; Jack Schwartz & Maggie O'Connor; Ginny & Bob Fineberg; Patty Hillkirk & Jeff Darman; Anne Humes; Immaculata University ; Victoria McNeil Le Vine; and Dr. Raida Rabah.

One hundred and twenty children will attend the camp session, which will take place August 17– 23 at Camp Saginaw in southern Chester County. Over 250 counselors, medical personnel, professionals and community members will volunteer during the camp week. Information on volunteering can be found at or by calling 610-925-2998.
