Deteriorating bridges present many hazards

This 10-pound slab of concrete was recently found by a person walking along the hiking trail that runs under the Race Street bridge in Kennett Square—one of the many bridges in the area that are in serious need of repair. What would have happened if this chunk of the bridge had fallen on a person as he or she walked by?
