A 27-year-old Coatesville woman died in a one-car crash just after midnight on Dec. 7 in East Marlborough Township.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that Kelly Lynn Parker, who was a passenger in a truck driven by Ashley E. Parker, 26, of Kennett Square, died when the truck hit several trees. Police say Ashley Parker was driving north on North Walnut Road, south of Hadley Mill Road, when she lost control of the 2004 Ford F-350 truck on the wet pavement and drove off the northbound lane. The truck came back onto the roadway, ran off the southbound lane and struck several trees.

Kelly Lynn Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt. Another passenger, Ashley Babbage, 25, of Hatfield, was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center for minor injuries. There were three other passengers in the truck who were not injured. The investigation is ongoing.

Police were assisted at the scene by Longwood Fire Company, Mercer's Towing and the Chester County Coroner's Office.
