Girls' Night Out focuses on stomach-related issues

11/06/2013 03:20PM ● By Acl

Jennersville Regional Hospital's eighth edition of its "Girls' Night Out" series will focus on stomach-related issues. The program is scheduled for Nov. 7 at the Dansko Company Store, and the program features gastroenterologist Michael Waronker.

Research has shown that women deal with gastrointestinal distress more frequently than men. Dr. Waronker will help attendees understand the diagnostic process and treatment for some common problems. He also will discuss the importance of colonscopy in the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer.

"Girls' Night Out" attendees also enjoy shopping at the Dansko Company Store with an extra 10 percent off the store's discounted prices. Participants can shop, browse the health and wellness literature, and enjoy hors d'oeuvres from 6:30 until about 7:15 p.m., when the evening's lecture begins.

An independent member of the Jennersville Regional Hospital medical staff, Waronker is an experienced and board certified gastroenterologist.  He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed specialty training in gastroenterology at Hahnemann School of Medicine. He has been in private practice with Brandywine GI Associates since 2000.

"Girls' Night Out" is free, but registration is required. To register, call the Jennersville Regional Hospital Marketing and Public Relations Office at 610-869-1223 or e-mail your name, address and phone number to [email protected].

The Dansko Factory Store is located a short distance from Jennersville Regional Hospital, at 33 Federal Ave., West Grove.
