Pictured at the ceremony are Terence Farrell (county commissioner), Mark Johnson (vice president of West Grove Borough Council), Sharon Nesbitt (West Grove Borough manager), Christopher Freese (West Grove Borough Council), Charles L. Huston, IV (executive director, Habitat for Humanity of Chester County Board of Directors), Richard S. Turkington (president of West Grove Borough Council), Brian Knezek (West Grove Borough Council), Ryan Costello (county commissioner), Clyde Jacobs (West Grove Borough Council), Stephen Black (Mayor of West Grove), Alan Randzin (local government policy specialist with the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services), Kathi Cozzone (commissioner), David Prosser (West Grove Borough Council), William DeFalco (president of Habitat for Humanity of Chester County Board of Directors), Patrick Bokovitz, (Director of the Department of Community Development) and Arthur Munson (Habitat for Humanity of Chester County Board of Directors).

The Chester County Commissioners gathered with members of West Grove's Borough Council and Habitat for Humanity representatives earlier this month on the 6.8-acre site at Willow Street and South Guernsey Road in West Grove. The commissioners awarded a Community Revitalization Program grant of $1,111,000 to the borough for improvements on, and surrounding, this property. These public improvements include construction of the storm water management system, storm sewer system, public water system, new street construction and widening of existing streets.  Habitat for Humanity of Chester County will then build 40 affordable, owner-occupied homes on this property in partnership with families earning between 30 percent and 60 percent of the area's median income.

Ryan Costello, the chairman of the Chester County Board of Commissioners, noted, “Since 2003, more than $3.7 million in Community Revitalization Programs funds have been invested in West Grove, for water system, storm sewer and streetscape improvements.  This year’s grant of $1.1 million helps pave the way for the construction of 40 affordable homes in the borough, and we thank Habitat for Humanity of Chester County and Borough officials for their commitment to investing in this very worthwhile project.”
