Hornets take break from gridiron to man griddle for kids

09/18/2013 01:33PM, Published by ACL, Categories: Schools

Members of the Oxford Area High School varsity football team recently volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Delaware, a place to stay for families with hospitalized children who are receiving treatment.

Team members and their parents helped prepare a Sunday morning breakfast of French toast, breakfast casseroles, doughnuts and sausage for the families. After breakfast, the players and their parents were given a tour of the facility, and presented each of the children with an official Hornet Football lanyard. Pictured front from left are sophomore Noah Shoemaker, senior Clay Moran, junior Zach Deasey, sophomore Wesley Ogino, freshman Brendan Chew and Travis Chew, an eighth grader on the Penn's Grove Middle School team. Rear from left are junior Joey Boggs, seniors Eric Bentz and Ethan Herb, junior Ryan Hubley and senior Josh Smith.
