Sacred Heart students in Oxford become published authors

Sacred Heart students hold their books open to their favorite pages.

For students at Sacred Heart School in Oxford, the dream of writing their own book and having it published came true this month.

Grades kindergarten through eighth were given the opportunity to publish their own book during a writing assignment in March. Students created their own stories and learned writing skills. The students then typed and illustrated their own works, and each story was sent to a company called Student Treasures to be covered and bound. Each member of the class was then given the opportunity to read their story to a younger school student.
