Freedom Fest returns to Nottingham Park
06/11/2014 11:20AM ● By AclThe Chester County Commissioners, Chester County Facilities & Parks and Herr Foods, Inc., will present the 23rd Annual Freedom Fest at Nottingham County Park on July 5 from 6 to 11 p.m. The event features festival foods, activities, live music and a fireworks display.
There is no admission fee, but there is a $10 per car parking fee at Nottingham County Park and Herr’s Corporate Center. The gates open at 6 p.m.
There will be carnival rides, snacks from Herr's, 10 food concessions and other vendors. Visitors can also bring their own picnics. At 7:15 p.m., the band On the Rise (formerly Wildfire) will perform. Between band sets, local youth will perform a patriotic presentation.
Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. The 30-minute show has surprises and ground displays set to music. The grand finale incorporates the raising of the American flag.
Field seating is available for both the stage performances and the fireworks show. Early arrival is encouraged, and blankets and lawn chairs are recommended. Pets and canopies are not permitted in the viewing field. Pets, canopies and strollers are not permitted on the shuttle buses. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Coolers and similar items are subject to checks.
