On Saturday, August 8, grab your dancing shoes, round up your best friends and plan to make it a late night because Harrah’s Casino Philadelphia is pulling out all of the stops with its “Summer Rewind” party at its brand new music venue, The Block Entertainment Center. Featuring special musical performances by freestyle super stars Pretty Poison, Rockell and Joe Zangie, these three powerhouses will entertain audiences with all of their classic hits while video DJ Knappy plays favorite songs from the ‘80s and ‘90s from 8 PM to midnight. Pretty Poison, who is based out of Philadelphia, PA, earned a spot on the top 10 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1987 for “Catch Me I’m Falling” thanks to heavy MTV rotation and after being featured in the film Hiding Out. However, this was not the first time the band achieved success. The group charted in 1984 with the song “Nightime”, which hit number 14 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Planet Chart. In 2009, Pretty Poison released the single “Finga Lickin’ Good” on iTunes and the band continues to tour extensively nationally and locally. Also a huge freestyle/dance hit maker, Rockell rose to celebrity status in 1996 with the debut release of her single “I Fell In Love” and later followed this up with such legendary songs as “In A Dream”, “When I’m Gone” and “Can’t We Try” (a duet she did with the artist Collage). She continues to thrill fans with her music as she performs to sold out crowds. Also local to the Philadelphia scene, Joe Zangie is from South Jersey and his hit “I’ll Be Loving You” continues to live on as one of the top songs of his generation. Zangie is also well known for his other ‘90s songs including “In My Dreams”, Can You Feel The Love” and “Mad About You”. In 2008, he released a new album entitled Timeline which brought Zangie’s career back into the spotlight. All attendees must be 21 to enter the “Summer Rewind” Dance Party Featuring Pretty Poison, Joe Zangie and Rockell.
