NORTH EAST, Maryland – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints completed the expansion of its current meetinghouse that will serve over 200 of its members who reside in North East, Elkton, Perryville, Rising Sun, Oxford PA and nearby communities. To celebrate the opening, local Latter-day Saints are preparing an open house for the public, slated for Saturday, 21 February, 2015 with tours of the meetinghouse located at 21 Foster Lane, North East, MD 21901 from 3 to 7 p.m., People of all ages, faiths and backgrounds are welcome. In conjunction with the open house, we will also have a special presentation and display to provide information to the about the current construction of the Latter-day Saint Temple in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania due to be completed in 2016. The Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple will serve 35,000 members in 10 stakes in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware.
