The Jive Turkey Cranksgiving Cyclocross Race is taking place at Anson B. Nixon Park!

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Grab your bike, your sense of adventure, and maybe even your turkey hat — because the Jive Turkey Cranksgiving Cyclocross Race is coming to Anson B. Nixon Park this Saturday, November 15th! This fun and fast-paced event will bring cyclists and spectators together for an exciting day in the Park, with proceeds benefiting the Friends of Anson B. Nixon Park’s Capital Campaign to Revive, Refresh, and Renew the historic WaterWorks buildings.

So, what exactly is cyclocross? It’s an off-road cycling race that mixes the best parts of road racing, mountain biking, and steeplechase — all rolled into one heart-pounding loop. Riders navigate a 1–3 kilometer closed course featuring grass, dirt, and pavement, tackling obstacles like barriers, stairs, and steep hills. At times, racers even dismount and carry their bikes to keep momentum going. Races are short (under an hour) but intense, making for a thrilling spectacle whether you’re on the saddle or cheering from the sidelines.

This year’s course has been designed by legendary course designer Blake Tart, and the event is proud to be part of the PACX Series, drawing riders from across the region. Categories include men’s, women’s, and children’s divisions, so there’s something for everyone — from first-timers to seasoned racers. Not racing? No problem! Come out and enjoy a great day in the Park. Food and beverage trucks will be on site, making it the perfect fall Saturday outing for families and cycling fans alike.
