March 25: Opening Day, Plowing, Colonial New Year The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation will reopen for the 2023 season on March 25! Up to 1752, March 25th was New Year's Day in Colonial America. Come out to the farm to celebrate with us! We will be plowing our fields for spring crops with the help from our friends at Stockton Village Farm. There will be New Year demonstrations, hearth cooking, woodworking, and much more. Visit the parlor and try your hand at making a popular, colonial New Year's gift - an orange and clove pomander!
