Father Goose
Based on the short story, "A Place of Dragons," this Oscar-winning, 60s Technicolor film stars Cary Grant and Leslie Caron as the unlikely couple who fall in love on a South Sea island. Set during WWII, Grant plays a retired history teacher fed up with just about everything, who wants to while his days away beachcombing and drinking, but is recruited by the Allies to be a spotter for enemy aircraft. Caron and her 7 schoolgirl charges are stranded on a neaby island and must be rescued by this reluctant hero. "Father Goose" was Cary Grant's 'penultimate' film followed by "Walk Don't Run" before he retired from film.
