The du Ponts acquired Chandler Farm in the last century, when the family purchased land next to Winterthur, at the time a private estate and home to herds of cattle and sheep. In 1958, Henry Francis du Pont designated the red-brick, Federal-style farmhouse as the residence for the museum’s director. When you arrive at Chandler Farm, wine will be available for purchase to sip and savor while you listen to music by The Midnighters.
