In 1971, the late matriarch of family-run Linvilla Orchards, Peg Linvill, won first place at the Philadelphia Horticulture Society’s Harvest Show. That display was brought back to the farm where the family had sold pumpkins for years and Pumpkinland was born. This year we celebrate 50 years of Pumpkinland being a fall destination for generations of families in the Philadelphia area. Pumpkinland is open from mid-September through early November and takes center stage at Linvilla Orchards. Larger than life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, featuring local history and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples. Linvilla offers a variety of autumn activities including hayrides, pick-your-own apples, and mazes!
