2nd Annual Beyond Juneteenth: Egungun Festival

Juneteenth, a portmanteau of June and nineteenth, is also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day. It is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved or bonded in the United States, our Ancestors, our Egungun. Join us for our second annual Beyond Juneteenth festival, titled “Beyond” to recognize Juneteenth as the oldest celebration commemorating the freedom of enslaved people in the United States, while also acknowledging the ancestral legacy we have yet to grow into. Learn, connect, and be empowered as we start the day with a Juneteenth Flag Raising ceremony, live performances from The Sankofa African dancers, Ghetto Songbird, Hezekiah, Egungun lle Igoke,Ebony Zuudia, Stiggz Stigalo,Tonantzin Yaotecas Aztec Dancers,Egungun Oloba along with food trucks arts and craft vendors and Art Therapy with 7God.
