The Newark Symphony will perform Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88, by Antonin Dvorak, selections from “Messiah, by George Frideric Handel, with soloists Catherine Short de Arce, soprano and Augustine Mercante, countertenor, who was described by the new York Times as “a glowing countertenor,” following a performance at Tanglewood this August. Also featured will be Sweet Little Jesus Boy, Festive Overture, by Shostakovich, O Holy Night, and Chanukah Overture.
