VFAC's 30th Anniversary/Founders Day Celebration

The Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Celebration

The Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is planning a week-long celebration of the chapter’s 30th anniversary and Founder’s Day for the Sorority on January 31, 2021 through February 6, 2021. VFAC serves the Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties through various outreach programs. The major focus of the Sorority is centered around the national organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust and VFAC supports this thrust with our local programs: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Locally, VFAC impacts the community with The Patriots of African Descent Monument in Valley Forge National Historical Park. This historical park is the first that honors the contributions made by African American soldiers who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Programs such as The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, which services African American girls between the ages of 11-14 help prepare them as leaders for the 21st century. The Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta G.E.M.S. targets African American girls, ages 14-18, to prepare them for college and career planning. Scholarships are provided for African American students through donations and fundraising events. Social Action promotes leadership, advocacy and empowerment among VFAC members to bring about effective outcomes. In addition, programs such as Love Exchange, Carol’s Christmas, and the Patriot’s Challenge benefit the community as well. All VFAC events are entirely virtual. There are 4 events open to the public: Church service with the Eastern Regional Chaplin Rev. Dr. Natalie P. Alford on January 31st; Cooking with Chef Dana on February 3rd; Throwback Party on February 4th; and the public celebration of the Chapter’s 30th Anniversary will take place on February 6th, with guest speaker Cynthia M. A. Butler-McIntyre, 24th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. VFAC extends an invitation to all public events. Details on registration, payments and monetary contributions to the 30 for 30 fundraising campaign can be found on the Chapter’s Website: dstvalleyforge.org.
