Jen Chapin Returns to The Friends Folk Club

The Jen Chapin Duo returns to The Friends Folk Club on Friday, August 10th. Jen Chapin has continued the mission of her father, the late singer-songwriter Harry Chapin, to fight world hunger, and attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items which will be given to the local area food cupboards. Jen Chapin's music is urban folk soul -- story songs that search for community and shared meaning, powered by the funk and improvisation of the city. Critics have hailed her work as "brilliant.. soulfully poetic" (NPR), "thoughtful.. worth-savoring" (People), "addictive" (Boston Globe), "smart, observant, lyrically deft, politically aware and emotionally intuitive" (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel). JazzTimes has called her "a first-rate storyteller" while Relix regards her as "one of the freshest voices singing today." Not at all surprising from the daughter of Harry Chapin, a master musical storyteller. Jen Chapin (Vocals), Jamie Fox(Guitar) Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. Doors open at 7:00PM, and concert will start at 7:30PM. The concert will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church 116 Lancaster Pike Oxford, PA 19363. Refreshments are available at a reasonable price. For more information call: 610-869-8076. Email: [email protected] or visit jenchapin.com. The Friends Folk Club is an all volunteer-community run concert series. Come visit the best (and loved) little concert series in Southern Chester County for over 20 years.
