Yale’s Worst Oarsman. Ever. will sign books at Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

The Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Oct. 28-29, 2017 #7 Kelly Drive, Boathouse Row, Philadelphia PA 19130 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.   Yale’s Worst Oarsman. Ever. will sign books at Head of the Schuylkill Regatta    Michael P Danziger (center, left), author of Small Puddles: The Triumphant Story of Yale’s Worst Oarsman. Ever. (http://www.smallpuddlesbook.com) will be on hand to sign his book at The Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28, 29 at #7 Kelly Drive, Boathouse Row in Philadelphia, PA.     SMALL PUDDLES is a rollicking tale of tenacity, determination, and unrelenting “sticktoitiveness” and at its core, is a heart-warming and hilarious memoir, but don’t expect to read about what a saint Zig is. He’s no saint. And don’t expect any syrupy soft-focus vignettes of New England collegiate life. Zig’s raucous yarns, spun one after another, are warts-and-all, high-definition windows into the glory days. No punches pulled.  His memoir, SMALL PUDDLES is about overcoming the odds with a quit-adverse attitude and how failure has played a crucial role in him helping others find success. Two years ago he was diagnosed with advanced renal failure. He currently is waiting to receive a new kidney. In the meantime, he goes back to lessons he learned as Yale’s Worst Oarsman. Ever. Never quit. Work hard every day to be your best. That’s what he continues to do.   The author’s portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book are going to the education nonprofit, the Steppingstone Foundation (https://www.tsf.org/about-us/co-founders/), which he co-founded. To date the foundation has helped nearly 3,000 students prepare for and enter college.   “Small Puddles will take its rightful place next to Emory Clark’s Olympic Odyssey and Ginny Gilder’s Course Correction as a classic story of rowing at Yale. Pretty sure Emory and Ginny would kick Zig’s a$$ in a seat race though…” – Mike Hard, US National Team, World Rowing Championships 1988 and 1989   “Zig’s a legend.”  – Tom Weil, rowing historian, Yale Lightweight Team member ’66-‘70   For more information about the event go here, http://hosr.org.
