Moskowitz earns Democratic Leadership Award
The Chester County Democratic Committee honored Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz with the Chester County Democratic Leadership Award at a banquet held at the People’s Light Farmhouse in Malvern.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro recognized Moskowitz's dedication to service at the ceremony attended by over 175 Democratic leaders, volunteers, and supporters.
Moskowitz was honored for a lifetime of strong and compassionate leadership. In 2020, she was the first Democratic Chair of the Chester County Board of Commissioners and oversaw Chester County’s services and operations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. A lifelong entrepreneur, she also played a role in reviving local business in Chester County and co-founded Emerge PA, a program that trains women to run for office.
Chester County Commissioner Josh Maxwell, Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler, and Chester County Democratic Committee Chair Charlotte Valyo also talked about Moskowitz’s work in the county.
The event was attended or supported by every judge up for retention this year, including Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht, Superior Court Judge Alice Beck Dubow, and Commonwealth Court Judge Michael Wojcik.
Also in attendance were Superior Court candidate Brandon Neuman and Commonwealth Court candidate Stella Tsai.
