Kennett Township resident Diane McGovern recently snapped this photograph that perfectly depicts the summer colors that visitors to Barkingfield Park have come to enjoy. 

The township purchased the 45-acre property in 2017 through a collaboration with Michael Pia, Jr. and Stephanie Pia, the Deleeuw family, the township’s Land Conservation Advisory Committee and the agency formerly known as The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County. The township park is located at 557 Bayard Road in Kennett Square and is open daily from dawn to dusk.
