The Oxford Square Mall has enjoyed a good comeback since it was purchased by Westover Properties in the mid-2000s. Now, the Oxford Square Mall is about to receive a facelift to continue the revitalization.

“Oxford Square Mall has been a very good location for us. The community has really supported our stores,” said Dave McManus, the vice president of Westover Management Company.

Oxford Borough officials and many of the borough’s residents were delighted when Westover Properties purchased the shopping center. At that time, the shopping center was nearly empty and in disrepair. The only remaining stores at that time were the Dollar Store, Hair Express, and Rite Aid.

Today, the nearly 127,400-square-foot shopping center is anchored by Redner’s Warehouse Markets, Tractor Supply Company, Dollar General and a Planet Fitness, which was just recently added. Other retailers include Rita’s Water Ice, a Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits store and Pat’s Pizza.

McManus shared a few details about the planned facelift for the shopping center that is situated on the edge of Oxford Borough.

“We are trying to give the mall a more country look so it fits in with the surroundings,” McManus said.

Renovation work is being completed by AT Construction. The architect of the design is Clemente Ivins.

“We have one opening now where the flower shop used to be,” McManus said. “That property is 12,065 square feet.”

Plans are also underway to install planters in front of the stores to encourage trucks to deliver in the rear of the property. Because so many delivery trucks currently use the front of the buildings for deliveries, the front of the stores are often blocked.

McManus explained, “There will be substantial planters made of concrete and block. Hopefully, it will give the front area an uninterrupted view.”
