Police Blotter for the week of April 11

LICENSE PLATE STOLEN

On March 28, Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that a Pennsylvania license plate, XP24204, was stolen from a trailer at 145 Rose Ann Lane in West Grove. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Mike A. Akana was arrested on March 2 and charged by Oxford police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of or possession of a small amount of marijuana, and driving with a driver's license that is either suspended or revoked.

STALKING AND HARASSMENT

Ronald E. Fox, 47, of Oxford, was arrested by Oxford Borough police on March 11 and charged with stalking and harassment after he was identified for allegedly leaving several lewd communications in the area of South Third Street. Fox is being held at the Chester County Prison on $25,000 bail.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Jesus Jimenez was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment by Oxford Borough police on March 24.

JUVENILES ARRESTED

On March 9, Oxford Borough police charged a 13-year-old male and a 15-year-old female with receiving stolen property, and a 14-year-old male was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

RETAIL THEFT

On March 7, Oxford Borough police charged Saul Diaz-Cruz with retail theft and theft by deception.

DUI

Taylor Lynne Romero, 20, of Chadds Ford, was involved in a single-car crash on March 26 at 1:36 a.m. on East Hillendale Road. According to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale, she showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. She was later charged with DUI.

John Hernandez-Romero, of Wilmington, Del., was charged with DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped by police for a traffic violation on Route 272 in West Nottingham Township.

Jair Barcenas-Aparicio, a resident of Mexico, was stopped by the State Police as he was driving north on Route 10 in Lower Oxford Township for a traffic violation. Police determined that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested.

Jose De Jesus Hernandez-Garduno, 32, of Avondale, was arrested for DUI in his commercial vehicle after a traffic stop on March 29 at Route 41 and Glen Willow Road.

Kennett Square Police arrested Caleb Rodriguez, 25, of Ephrata, for DUI after a traffic stop on West Cypress Street on March 5 at 2:05 a.m. He was released to a friend pending a summons from District Court.

Kennett Square Police arrested John Iliff, 23, of Unionville, for DUI after a traffic stop on Cypress Street on March 18 at 3:57 a.m. He was released at his residence pending a summons from District Court.

Kennett Square Police arrested Jesus Morales-Villicana, 25, of Wilmington, Del., for DUI after a traffic stop on South Mill Road on March 13 at 10:32 p.m. He was released at a friend's house pending a summons from District Court.

Kennett Square Police arrested Gustavo Castaneda-Mendoza, 23, of Toughkenamon, for DUI after a traffic stop on Ways Lane on March 10. He was found to have an active bench warrant and was taken to Chester County Prison.

On March 26 at 2:28 a.m., New Garden Township Police stopped a car being driven erratically in the 800 block of Newark Road. The driver, Filadelfia Arreola-Aguilar, 30, of New Castle, Del., showed signs of impairment and was unable to perform field sobriety tests. She was arrested for DUI and later released to a friend pending a court appearance.

On March 27 at 11:30 p.m., New Garden Township Police saw a car being driven erratically in the 1500 block of Baltimore Pike. After a traffic stop, the driver, Alberto Castaneda-Velazco, 24, of West Grove, failed field sobriety tests and charged with DUI. His passenger, Ismael Bernal-Tapia, 24, of Toughkenamon, was seen trying to conceal something on the floor of the car. The item was later tested and found to be cocaine. He was taken into custody for drug possession and other related charges. Both men were later released pending a court appearance.

On March 31, Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Luis Bernal-Castaneda, 39, of Rising Sun, Md., for DUI after a one-vehicle crash on Sylmar Road in West Nottingham Township.
