Police Blotter for week of Jan. 26

PACKAGE STOLEN

Kennett Square Police reported that a package containing more than $190 worth of silver bars was stolen from the porch of a residence in the 100 block of West State Street on Dec. 26. The package had been delivered to the home between 1 and 5 p.m.

CAR WINDOWS BROKEN

Three car windows were smashed by vandals overnight on Jan. 3, according to Kennett Square Police. Between 5 p.m. Saturday and 9:20 a.m. on Monday, the rear window of a car was smashed in the 800 block of South Washington Street, the driver's-side window of a car was broken in the 500 block of Ridge Avenue, and the driver's-side window of a car was broken in the 300 block of North Broad Street.

GOLF CLUBS STOLEN

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale are investigating the theft of a golf bag and clubs from an office at the Inniscrone Golf Club in London Grove Township on the morning of Dec. 16.

DOG BITE

Kennett Square Police cited Helen Thompson, 65, of Kennett Square, after her dog ran from her yard, crossed the street and bit a person in the lower thigh on the morning of Jan. 1. The victim had three puncture wounds.

ASSAULT ARRESTS

Kennett Square Police arrested Randy Dishman, 46, of Kennett Square, on Jan. 3 after a victim reported that he kicked down the door of a home in the 500 block of Kenview Avenue, grabbed the victim by the neck, threw the victim on a bed and sat on top of them. He was arraigned and bail was set at $3,000.

Kennett Square Police arrested Jesus Olvera-Pantoja, 38, of Kennett Square, after an incident that occurred on Dec. 31 at midnight in the 300 block of East State Street. The victim told police that Olvera-Pantoja grabbed them by the hair and dragged them through the home. He was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bail.

Pascal Rodriguez-Perez, 24, of Kennett Square, was arrested for simple assault, two counts of terroristic threats, harassment, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after an incident that occurred on Dec. 25 in the 300 block of Cream Street. The victim said that Rodriguez-Perez threatened to kill him and hit him with a belt. He also broke a window. While in custody, Rodriguez-Perez threatened the victim's daughter. He was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000. Unable to post bail, he was taken to Chester County Prison.

RETAIL THEFT

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale received a report that Bettina Marie Cimino, 58, of East Nottingham Township, had been seen stealing jewelry on Jan. 17 from A Dressy Deal Consignment Shop in Penn Township. Cimino was later stopped by Oxford Borough Police and found with the stolen jewelry. She was arrested for retail theft.

STOLEN CAR STRIPPED

On Jan. 1, a red 1995 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 200 block of West Linden Street in Kennett Square, according to Kennett Square Police. On Jan. 9, police were notified by New Castle County Police that the car had been found on Melson Road in Wilmington, Del., with the interior completely stripped.

DUI

New Garden Township Police arrested Robert Monson, 59, of Kennett Square, for DUI on Jan. 12 at 8:57 p.m. Police saw Monson's car at West Cypress Street and Scarlett Road, spinning its tires and racing its engine. Monson said he wanted to make a left turn onto Scarlett Road but turned too soon and struck a concrete pole. Police took him into custody for DUI. He was processed and released pending a summons from District Court.

New Garden Township Police arrested Mike Davidson, 51, of Toughkenamon, for DUI on Jan. 15 at 11:31 p.m. Police tried to stop Davidson's car for an equipment violation, but he drove onto Chambers Road and made a quick turn into a driveway. The car accelerated and almost struck a mushroom house whle sliding on ice. Davidson was found to be DUI. He was taken into custody, processed and released pending a summons from District Court.
