KMC boys' team tops the competition

The KMC boys gymnastics team traveled to Bethlehem PA on Dec. 13 to compete against 175 other gymnasts. KMC’s level 4 and 8 teams won their team competitions. All-around winners for the KMC squad included Matthew Bunke, Henry Wagner, and Spencer Lewis.

The complete meet results include the following:

Level 4

In the 7-and-under age group, Joshua Secord took home fifth place on rings and parallel bars and sixth place on pommel horse. Once again, in the 8-year-old age group, KMC topped the podium with Spencer Biggs and Lewis. Lewis won the all-around, and received second place on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. Biggs won parallel bars and second in all-around. He was third on high bar, fourth on rings, vault and floor, and fifth on pommel horse. Maksym Pohorylo won third on parallel bars, fourth on pommel horse, and sixth on rings and high bar.

Competing in the 9-year-old age group: AJ DiPillo was fourth on parallel bars, fifth on pommel horse, rings and high bar as well as sixth in all-around. Zachary Secord took home fifth on vault and parallel bars; he earned sixth on floor and pommel horse.

In the 10-year-old age group, Austin Geibel was the high bar champion. He also placed third on vault, sixth on floor and fourth on rings and parallel bars.

In the 11-and-over age group, Oliver March finished with a win in all-around and on vault. March placed second on pommel horse and high bar, third on rings and parallel bars and fourth on floor.

Level 5

Wagner competed in the 7-and-8-year-old age group, where he won all-around, floor, rings and high bar, he placed second on parallel bars, third on pommel horse and fourth on vault.

For the 11-year-old age group, Max Madron won rings, was second on pommel horse and parallel bars and fourth all-around. He placed fifth on vault and high bar.

Level 6

In the 11-and-12 year old group, TJ Langdon was first on vault, fourth on pommel horse, and sixth on floor. Thomas Casey placed fourth on floor.

Level 8

In the 11-and-12-year old age group, KMC took second, third and fourth in the all-around. Kieran Clark won first place on floor and rings. Clark was also second in all-around, and on vault, parallel bars, and high bar, and he placed fourth on pommel horse. Liam Bachman received first place on vault, second on floor, and third place in all-around, on pommel horse and parallel bars. He also received fourth on rings and sixth on high bar. Andrew Overman took second on pommel horse, third on high bar and fourth in all-around, on vault, and parallel bars. He was fifth on floor and rings. Jackson Scheck won fourth on floor, fifth on high bar and sixth in all-around, and on the remaining four events.

Level 10

Matt Bunke competed in the 16-and-older age group where he swept first in all events, except high bar, where he placed fourth. Brendan McBride won third on floor and pommel horse, and he placed fourth in the all-around and on rings and parallel bars. On vault and high bar, McBride finished fifth.

KMC Gymnastics is located at 912 W Cypress St in Kennett Square. The next competition is Jan. 16.
