Nov. 7 to Dec. 14

Shop for world crafts

Oxford Presbyterian Church (6 Pine St., Oxford) hosts a shop of fair-trade crafts and other products from around the world beginning Nov. 7 during First Friday in Oxford from 5 to 8 p.m. The shop is also open Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 8 to Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as on Dec. 5 from 5 to 9 p.m. The items include home decor, musical instruments, textiles, pottery, jewelry, toys and accessories. Author Iris Gray Dowling will appear at the shop on Nov. 7 and Dec. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. She will display her children's books, sign books and talk with visitors. Nov. 8

Christmas bazaar

Living God Lutheran Church (3200 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook), along with Hearts in Hands, will host the 10th annual Christmas bazaar on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafters will feature Christmas items and other crafts for sale. Call 610-273-9383 for more information.

 

Nov. 15

Pancake and sausage breakfast

The Second Presbyterian Church (42 S. Fifth St., Oxford) hosts a pancake and sausage breakfast on Nov. 15 from 8 to 11 a.m. There will also be an egg and omelet station. Proceeds benefit the Presbyterian Women's mission fund. Tickets are $7 for adults, and $4 for ages 4 to 10.

 

Nov. 14-15

Holiday bazaar

The Avondale Presbyterian Church (420 Pennsylvania Ave., Avondale) will hold its Craft Fair and Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features more than 50 crafters and vendors selling Christmas decorations, Vermont cheese, crafts, scarves, jewelry and accessories, toys, books, flowers, plants and more. There will also be a white elephant sale of household goods. Light fare will be available both days, including chicken corn soup, chili, cider and homemade desserts. Nov. 19

Joseph's People

The Parish Life Center of the ABVM Church (300 State Rd., West Grove) will be the site of the monthly meeting of Joseph's People, for the unemployed or underemployed, on Nov. 19 at 6:45 p.m. The guest speaker will be John Colarusso, a former Joseph's People member, who is now employed. He will present an introduction to LinkedIn and how to build a presence on the site. The meeting is free. For more information, visit www.josephspeople.org.


Nov. 22

Breakfast buffet

Oxford United Methodist Church (18 Addison St., Oxford) offers an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast on Nov. 22 from 7 to 10 a.m. The menu includes buttermilk pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, fruit, sausage and bacon, roasted potatoes, dried beef gravy and specialty breads. Dec. 22

'Quiet Christmas'

“A Quiet Christmas Service” will be held at Grove United Methodist Church on Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. The community event is for those who want a respite from the busy season, and especially those who may be grieving due to a death, life changes or divorce. The service includes a candle-lighting segment. The church is at 490 W. Boot Road, West Chester. For directions, visit www.grovechurch.org.
