CAMP SAGINAW BURGLARY

Camp Saginaw in New London Township was the target of burglars overnight on Oct. 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Police said someone broke in and moved a large floor safe, damaging it. Nothing appeared to be stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

ROLLOVER ACCIDENT

A crash on Oct. 1 on Route 1 left a Philadelphia woman with injuries, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Police reported that Amanda Ahrens, 22, of Philadelphia, was driving north on Route 1, south of Route 841, when a piece of wood fell from a passing truck and hit the roadway. One car swerved to avoid it, but Ahrens drove into the center median and her 2004 Jeep Cherokee rolled over several times, stopping in the southbound lanes of Route 1. Ahrens was taken to Christiana Hospital by West Grove EMS.

ASSAULT ARREST

Kennett Square Police arrested Santos Ibanez-Allon, 29, of Kennett Square, after a fight that occurred in the 400 block of South Walnut Street on Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. He was charged with assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Bail was set at $5,000, and, unable to pay, Ibanez-Allon was taken to Chester County Prison. A witness to the fight, Oscar Morales-Guerrero, 25, of Kennett Square, was detained on a bench warrant for failure to appear, and was released to constables.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS

Kennett Square Police cited Benjamin Lech, 31, of Kennett Square, for public drunkenness after he was seen staggering into traffic at South Union and East Cypress streets on Sept. 20 at 1:12 a.m. He was released at his residence.

DRUG ARREST

New Garden Township Police responded to the 1300 block of Newark Road on Oct. 8 at 8:40 a.m. for a report of someone with narcotics. Police arrested Jessie Daveler, 34, of Clifton Heights, Pa., after drugs and a 3-inch folding knife were found. She was released to Delaware County Sheriff's deputies for an outstanding warrant. A summons for drug violations was approved and a preliminary hearing is pending.

TERRORISTIC THREATS

Kennett Square Police charged Edward Tynes, 52, of New Castle, Del., with making terroristic threats, two counts of harassment and two counts of criminal trespass on Sept. 7 in the 100 block of North Walnut Street. The 54-year-old victim said that Tynes threatened to burn their property down and get a gun.

BURGLARIES

A home at 2 Springdale Place in Oxford was burglarized sometime between Sept. 20 and Oct. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. The home was entered and a deer mount and compound bow were stolen.

A home at 66 Molly Lane in Pocopson Township was burglarized on Oct. 11 between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that someone entered through an unlocked back door and stole jewelry and a safe from the master bedroom. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Someone scratched the passenger side doors and rear quarter panel of a car parked at 126 Murray Avenue in West Grove on Oct. 5 between 1 and 8 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale.

A window in a vehicle parked at 8 Arbour Court in Nottingham was smashed by vandals overnight on Oct. 13. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Ryan Smith at 610-268-2022.

A club house in the 700 block of Pennsgrove Road in Oxford was damaged by vandals on Oct. 12 between 3 and 6:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Revels at 610-268-2022.

Sometime overnight on Sept. 21, three tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in a lot in the 200 block of East Maple Alley, according to Kennett Square Police.

DUI

Kennett Square Police arrested Barret May, 27, of Wilmington, Del., for DUI after a traffic stop on Oct. 7 at 12:42 a.m. at South Union Street and Oak Avenue. He was released to a friend pending a summons from District Court.

Alfredo Rivera, 29, of Avondale, was arrested for DUI by Kennett Square Police after a traffic stop on Oct. 4 at 1:28 a.m. in the 100 block of South Mill Road. He was released at his residence pending a summons from District Court.

Kennett Square Police arrested Cedric Shacklford, 21, of Newark, Del., for DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Union Street on Sept. 27 at 5:16 a.m. He was released to a friend pending a summons from District Court.
