Art at Wilson Vineyard

Wilson Vineyard Art Gallery, 4374 Forge Rd., Nottingham (www.wilsonvineyard.com) hosts a summer show of original art by Dave Eldreth, Sherry McVickar, Reenie Chase, Sarah Yeoman, Mary Holton and others through Aug. 31. Gallery hours are Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.

Summer group show

The Station Gallery (3922 Kennett Pike, Greenville, Del.) continues a summer group show through Aug. 29. The gallery's celebration of its 35th year, featuring 59 artists who have exhibited there over the years, opens with a reception on Sept. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The retrospective exhibit continues through Sept. 27. Aug. 23 to Nov. 16

Charles Burchfield

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) will present "Exalted Nature: The Real and Fantastic World of Charles Burchfield" from Aug. 23 to Nov. 16. Burchfield (1893-1967) was a leading American artist, and the exhibition feature more than 50 of his vibrant, imaginative paintings. The museum is open daily. Visit www.brandywine.org.

Timothy Barr solo show

The Somerville-Manning Gallery (101 Stone Block Row, Greenville, Del.) presents a solo show of paintings by contemporary American luminist Timothy Barr from Sept. 12 to Oct. 4. 'Spirit' at Chadds Ford Gallery

Chadds Ford Gallery (1609 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford) presents "Spirit," a show of recent works by Marie Kirkwood and Pamela Julian-Smyers, from Sept. 13 to 28. Art classes with Karl Kuerner

The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) offers art classes with Karl J. Kuerner on Tuesdays from Sept. 23 to Nov. 11 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), and Saturdays from Sept. 27 to Nov. 15 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The Chadds Ford artist will teach classes at the Kuerner Farm, site of many of Andrew Wyeth's best-known works. The first class will meet at the museum before going to the farm site.
