No surprises in the Primary Election
05/27/2014 08:37PM ● By AclAs expected, voter turnout was very light for the Primary Election, with less than 13 percent of the registered voters in Chester County heading to the polls. There were no surprises once the votes were tallied. Businessman Tom Wolf earned the Democratic nomination and will oppose Gov. Tom Corbett in the November election. Republican County Commissioner Ryan Costello earned his party's nomination for the open seat in the 6th Congressional District. Tom Houghton won the Democratic nomination and will oppose U.S. Congressman Joseph Pitts in the 16th District. Susan Rzucidlo won the Democratic nomination in the 158th district race and will oppose Republican nominee Cuyler Walker. Republican incumbent John Lawrence was unopposed in the 13th District Primary and will face Democratic nominee Ann Schott, who was also unopposed in the primary.
