Tom Houghton, the Democratic candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania's 16th District, recently earned the endorsement of the Greater Reading PAC (GRPAC).

GRPAC is a political action committee made up of community leaders and concerned citizens in the greater Reading area who have a vision for a better, cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous region. GRPAC supports candidates who have the ability to bring their vision to fruition, and who will defend and expand our freedoms, protect our environment, create good jobs with good salaries, expand health care to all Americans, and work to improve our public schools and colleges.  You can learn more about GRPAC at their website, GRPAC.org.

Bernice Hines Corbitt, President of GRPAC said, “We are proud to endorse and support Tom Houghton.  Tom will be the reasonable, responsible leader our region needs.  He is the kind of leader we can depend on to fight for us in Washington.  Tom understands the challenges that people and families encounter everyday, and he is dedicated to making sure that everyone has access to the opportunities that will allow them to build a better life and a happy, prosperous and secure future.

“Tom is on the right side of the issues that matter to voters in the Reading area, and the 16th District in general.  From making sure that our air and water are safe and clean, to investing in a skilled workforce by providing our children with a quality education, to making wise investments that will lead to more jobs and a stronger economy, we can count on Tom Houghton to do the right thing.”

Regarding the endorsement, Tom Houghton said, “I am pleased to accept the endorsement and support of the GRPAC, and I am proud to stand with these community leaders who are dedicated to the revitalization of the Reading area. If elected, I will work hard every day to make sure that I am doing everything in my power to create the opportunities that the residents of Reading, and our entire community need. I know that the members of the GRPAC will be my partners in achieving that goal, and I look forward to working with them on these important issues.”
