The Russellville Grange held its annual merit badge awards ceremony for Junior Grange members on Jan. 16. During 2013, children either worked as a group or individually to earn badges for presenting three facts about three different owls and making a shoebox habitat for their favorite owl, designing a spreadsheet to organize a special collection, and presenting an invention of their own creation.

Seventeen Junior Grange members received badges: Gayle Reyburn, Cassy Kehs, Kate Lynn Brundage, Kay Reyburn, Ruby Reybur, Abby Kehs, Dani Kehs, Ben Parry, Merle Reyburn, Declan Harrison, Harvey Reyburn, Declan Harrison, Alyssa Scone-Weldon, Sam Bryant, Dan Brundage, and Jack Brundage.

At the same meeting, Pennsylvania State Grange President Carl Meiss presented the grange members with the Distinguished Grange Award. This is the fourth year in a row that Russellville Grange has won the award, which is issued by the National Grange in recognition of membership accomplishment and community service.

The Russellville Grange is at the intersection of routes 10 and 896.
