01/28/2014 07:13PM ● By Acl

“Reclaiming the Children” is the title of the next meeting of ACE Anti-Human Trafficking Alliance of Oxford at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 1 at the Oxford Senior Center.

Sister Peg Malone, a missionary and member of the Province of Africa of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, has lived in Africa for more than 20 years. She has ministered in Ghana and Nigeria in West Africa, and now resides in Kenya in East Africa. She teaches at the local high school seminary and will speak about the reality of internal trafficking in some of the African countries.

Although human trafficking has been getting news coverage only recently in this country, this presentation brings an awareness of the child trafficking that has been going on for years in Africa and how some people are working to reclaim the children.

Everyone is invited for coffee and doughnuts at 9 a.m., followed by the one-hour presentation.  The Oxford Senior Center is at 12 E. Locust St.  Parking is limited and you are invited to park in the lot of the Church of the Nazarene (116 E. Locust St.).  For information, e-mail [email protected], or call 610-932-0337.
