Four organizations get Partners in the Arts grants
01/28/2014 06:36PM ● By AclState Sen. Andy Dinniman announced last week that four area organizations have received Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts grants.
The Steel City Blues Society, the Harmony for Peace Foundation, the Oxford Area Senior Center’s artist-in-residence program and the Renaissance Academy’s After School Ballet program have been selected for grants of up to $3,000 for their arts programs.
The Steel City Blues Society is based in Phoenixville and annually holds its Phoenixville Blues Festival. The Harmony for Peace Foundation of Tredyffrin seeks to promote cross-cultural understanding through the arts. The Oxford Area Senior Center brings in artists for weekly painting classes for senior citizens. The Renaissance Academy’s ballet program is free and open to the school’s K-12 students.
“The arts add to the special quality of life we enjoy in Chester County, be it a local blues concert or weekly painting classes at the area senior center,” Dinniman said. “These grants help make such programs a reality.”
