Local student advances in Punt, Pass & Kick competition

Makayla Kelly advanced to the Punt Pass & Kick NFL Championship at the Eagles vs. Cardinals game on Nov. 30.  Winners at the Punt Pass & Kick NFL Championship will complete during an AFC Championship game in January 2014. This is Makayla Kelly's second time competing at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.  

After the competition, Makayla and her parents attended the game to watch an Eagles' win.  Makayla has been playing flag football at Avon Grove for last three years.

The Avon Grove NFL Flag Football League held its tenth annual Punt, Pass and Kick competition at Crossan Park in Kemblesville.  The divisions are divided into age groups: 6 & 7, 8 & 9, 10 & 11, 12 & 13, and 14 &15, with boys and girls competing separately. The top four scorers advanced to the Sectional Competition, which was also held at Avon Grove. Winners of the Sectionals advanced to the NFL Championships during the Eagles game. Over two million boys and girls take part in the competition each year, only four youngsters out of each age group advance to the Sectionals in each NFL city.

Flag Football is played during both spring and fall seasons. AG Flag is open to boys and girls ages 5 through 16.
