Oxford plans Borough Day
11/20/2013 03:02PM ● By AclOxford Borough is holding a Recycled Gift Wrap contest as part of Borough Day on Dec. 2. These are examples of how recycled materials, such as an old calendar, can be used to wrap a gift box.
Oxford Borough is again hosting Borough Day for residents, former residents, and anyone else interested in meeting with borough officials.
The third annual Borough Day is slated for Monday, Dec. 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Oxford Borough Hall, 401 Market St., Oxford.
Borough Manager Betsy Brantner said in a statement that Borough Day is a time to talk to Oxford borough officials about their vision for the future, to ask questions, to review the proposed 2014 budget, or to offer suggestions of any kind. Powerpoint presentations will be made throughout the day. Light refreshments will be served.
This year, the borough is having a Recycled Gift Wrap contest, in which entrants use recycled materials to wrap a box. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, and the best use of recycled materials. One purpose of the contest is to highlight the importance of recycling, and to encourage residents to recycle as much as possible.
