Unionville High School principal annouced at the Sept. 16 Unionville-Chadds Ford School Board meeting that 13 Unionville High School students have been named as National Merit Semi-Finalists.

This recognition is given to the top 2 percent of the students in the country, based on their October 2012 PSAT scores.

“That just makes my little principal heart flutter, in a very good way,” Massanari said, smiling. “It's great for our kids.”

The students are Ari Bleemer, John Cronin, Kate Dietrich-Manion, Victoria Francis, Amy Gottsegen, Edward Jing, Erin Kutz, Angela Pam, Barrett Powell, Edward Pyun, Ria Rathi and Jason Shao. The seniors can now continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, to be offered next spring.
