Starting pitchers Exelon's Ethan Sarosi and IACL's Chris Kratz battled for four innings before IACL took a 5-4 lead. IACL scored in the top of the fifth and sixth innings to increase their lead to 7-4. In the sixth, Exelon tied the game at 7-7, getting key hits from Kevin Wessels, Austin Ahart, Josh Ploener, and Corbin Barnett.
Great defensive plays by Exelon's Kevin Wessels and Matt Hauptschein highlighted a three-up, three-down inning by Exelon going into their last at-bat. Tait Mott led off the bottom of the seventh, stole second base, and scored the winning run on Sullivan's single between the shortstop and third baseman.
