Keith Meenan and Blaise Hylak of Assumption BVM School in West Grove participated and placed in the Chester County Science Investigation Competition.
Keith Meenan received an honorable mention for chemistry. He created an investigation to see how temperature is affected by color.
Blaise Hylak received second place in the Chester County Science Investigation Competition and honorable mention when his project was also submitted to the the Delaware Science Competition in Philadelphia. His “Mind Your Words” project utilized a computer program to instruct a robot to beep and light up colors in response to bad words. The robot would blink yellow if it heard “semi-bad” words and it would remain red if it heard “very bad” words.
Blaise said learning the new computer software to create the robot project was challenging, but rewarding.
