With Matt Kirk, Appalachian Trail Record Setter Saturday, April 23rd from 9:30AM-1:00PM Location: Walnut Hill Headquarters (541 Chandler Mill Road, Avondale, PA 19311) Matt Kirk set the record for the fastest self-supported thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail in August of 2013. He finished his hike in an astounding 58 days, 9 hours and 38 minutes, averaging 37.4 miles a day. Join Matt at TLC’s headquarters to hear the inspiring story of his hike. Get an inside look at the struggles Grandma Gatewood may have faced on her equally inspiring trek through the Appalachian Trail. Afterwards, head out on the trail with Matt to hike the adjacent 300-acre Bucktoe Creek Preserve. Please wear hiking shoes/sneakers, this will be an easy to moderate hike covering approximately 3 miles. Please pack a lunch, light breakfast will be provided.
