The Light in the Piazza

Margaret Johnson, the wife of an American Southern businessman, tours the Tuscan countryside with her daughter, Clara, a beautiful, surprisingly childish young woman during a summer vacation. While sightseeing, Clara loses her hat in a sudden gust, and as if guided by an unseen hand, finds her hat (and an instant, intense romance) with Fabrizio Naccarelli, a handsome Florentine. As Piazza unfolds, a secret is revealed: in addition to the cultural differences between the young lovers, Clara is not quite all that she appears. Winner of six Tony Awards including Best Original Score and Best Orchestration. Featuring Kimberly Christie (Clara), Jennifer Huth (Margaret), Paul Corujo (Frabizio), Peter Campbell (Signor Naccarelli, Andrea Area (Signora Naccarelli), Dan Urdaneta (Giuseppe) and Marnie Kanarek (Franca). Sponsored in part by daVinci Society of Delaware.
