Politics. Power. Scandal. The ‘Me’ Decade. Disco. Funny pants. However one defines the ‘70s, no definition is complete without the films from and about this pivotal era. This film series will explore American social and political life in the 1970s.
Warren Beatty co-wrote, produced, and stars in this sassy, saucy satire that takes place on the eve of Richard Nixon’s 1968 presidential win. (USA, 1975, 109 min.) Rated: R.
Series also includes Milk (2008), Being There (1979), The Candidate (1972), and Funny Face (1957).
All films will include a post-show discussion with longtime film critic for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Carrie Rickey.
In conjunction with Richard Avedon: Family Affairs from the collection of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
